The Dominican Republic 2010

Birding the Caribbean always brings great expectation due to the fact that as a leader I will always face something unexpected! This year those unexpected situations turned-out in our side: While seeing Eastern Chat Tanager sang in fairly open understory for several seconds we realized that all the endemic bird species of the Dominican Republic were seen throughout the scope! That included astonishing views of LaSelle Thrush. Also, at Los Limones we enjoyed 7 individuals of the severely threatened Ridgway’s Hawk.
