When Birds of the West Indies was published in 1936 little was known about the ecology of these Caribbean islands and much less about its author: James Bond. Today, endemic birdlife of each island is protected under rigid conservations laws and programs and thanks to that we were able to observe and enjoy all the parrots and endemic species of the islands we visited, except for the Semper’s Warbler. Read the tour report enclosed and you will find a paragraph explaining how James Bond the ornithologist, was later related with another Bond, the code name 007!
