The plane took-off from the Bogota airport and the morning was still dark. It headed east, soaring over the Andes and allowing us to see the bright sun showing up over an extensive flat land which opened to our eyes and over the horizon. Torrential rivers from the Andes had carved the slopes and expanded in sinuous manner, to discharge in larger courses of water to eventually reach one of the greatest rivers in South America, the Orinoco. Is there a better scene to feel welcomed to the Llanos?
