How many times did we find ourselves (during this tour) absorbed with the beauty and elegance of the hummingbirds and the tanagers of the W Andes of Colombia? It seemed to me as it happened almost in every day. Our week-long tour started in the floodable plains of the Magdalena River where the well-dressed Bar-crested Antshrike seemed to be pumping its tail while singing. Also, we enjoyed views of the loud and conspicuous Horned Screamer and added to our checklist three species of whistling-ducks as well as a powerful Peregrine Falcon perched atop a tall radio tower.
