It’s about 02:00AM in San José and we are listening the widespread and ubiquitous Clay-colored Robin singing from our hotel window. Yet, it was still too early to experience the real explosion of bird songs which usually happens after dawn. Then, after 05:30AM the chorus started when a vocal Great Kiskadee broke the morning silence followed by the scratchy notes of two Hoffmann´s Woodpecker, a nesting pair of Inca Doves, the ascending and monotonous song of the Yellow-bellied Elaenia and the cacophony of an (apparently!) engaged pair of Rufous-naped Wrens. This indeed rounded up a warm welcome to magic Costa Rica! Open this album and travel with us – throughout its photos – to a memorable tour that covered the best birding locations of this amazing country.
